A month of new Music: June 2019
The start of the summer just passed and so did a month full of some killer music!! Check out my favorite albums of the month and our staff picks below!
“Happiness begins” Jonas Brothers: Released June, 7th
THEY’RE BACK!!! After 10 years everyone’s favorite brothers are back making music, and let me say it feels so good to see this comeback happen. This album was good in my opinion but I’m going to be honest when I say I expected a bit more from a comeback album. The tracks were magnificent and mature and truly what a jobro album should sound like. A part of me wanted the album to be like their others from when I was younger, but it was a true representation of them as musicians who have matured and finally found their sound! Highly recommend this one :)
“Maybe Side B” Valley: Released June 7th
Well if you know me you know how much valley and their music means to me. Maybe is truly the greatest work I’ve heard in a very very long time. The production is OUT OF THIS WORLD. I’m such a typic music major that I always judge the quality and song writing before anything else! Valley is truly one of the greatest bands i’ve heard in a very long time. To get the full effect of the album, add part A and B into a playlist together so you can listen to it top to bottom! 10000/10000 will always recommend valley to anyone who will listen
“Doom Days” Bastille : Released June,14th
Bastille never ever fails to disappoint! Their music is so beautiful in every sense. Doom days is filled with some of the most incredible songs I’ve ever heard lyrically. If you’re into indie/alternative music and you haven’t heard of Bastille you’ve either been under a rock or just haven’t heard this level of excellence. Each song tells a story that is so vividly clear you could almost see it. Please listen to this album, you’ll never regret it!
“Love, pain, & retrospect” Before you Exit: Released June, 28th
The most underrated boy band to ever exist. These boys have been in my life since I was a young girl. As a fan the album title truly reflects the meaning of what it is to be a before you exit fan. I had the pleasure of getting to see the boys on their last tour, featuring support from the amazing Christina Grimmie… This album shows their feelings through their love of music. I believe music and time can heal all wounds but the hurt will always remain. In simplicity before you exits new album is something so beautiful and beyond under rated. I hope you all can take the time to listen to this beautiful work of art and get to see through their eyes through the music.
“Inner monologue, PT.2” Julia Michaels: Released June 28th
There’s not many words I have to explain my love for this EP. No matter who you are you’ve heard a Julia Michaels song, whether it’s with her vocals or someone else’s. Her gift of songwriting is absolutely insane. Every song is a quick glimpse into her mind and what she feels and has gone through. Inner monologue is no exception to her amazing skills!
